About this Project
The Morris Thomas Rd Reconstruction project will encompass a complete reconstruction of Morris Thomas Rd from Haines Rd to Piedmont Ave. Morris Thomas Road (CSAH 56) between Haines Road and Piedmont Avenue is in need of reconstruction due the deterioration of the curb, gutter, and pavement.
Construction will occur in 2023 and 2024. In 2023, from May to October, construction will occur between Haines Road and Hutchinson Road. In 2024, from April to September, construction will occur between Hutchinson Road and Piedmont Avenue.
Location
On Morris Thomas Road between Haines Rd and Piedmont Avenue.
Traffic Impacts
Road is Open to the Public.
Morris Thomas will be closed, follow the posted detour (picture below).
Property Access Details
This project will be performed with a road closure. Houses with no access to a side street will access their homes either by driving through the construction site, or walking on a marked path to their home when road access is not feasible. We will try and keep the amount of time that walking is required to a minimum. Persons with disabilities should contact Steve Krasaway to discuss special accommodations.
During the placement of curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, and concrete driveways, vehicular access to your property will be limited. The Contractor will contact you prior to any disruptions to access to your property to discuss the details on where to park.
If you would like to have any additional work performed on your driveway, yard, or sidewalk, please contact the Contractor directly.
Mailboxes
As part of St. Louis County’s safety policy, new mailbox supports & mailboxes meeting the Federal crash guidelines will be installed by the Contractor. The new mailbox will be installed in approximately the same location as your existing mailbox. The old supports & mailboxes will be deposited next to your driveway for possible salvage by the owners. About 2 weeks after installation of the new supports & mailboxes, any supports & mailboxes not salvaged by the property owner will be picked up for disposal.
