St. Louis County Public Works is seeking $4,982,430 from a U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) National Scenic Byways Program (NSBP), Fiscal Year 2024 grant. The grant opportunity is a grass-roots collaborative effort to help recognize, preserve, and enhance United States highways designated as National Scenic Byways, All-American Roads, State scenic byways, or Indian Tribe scenic byways. The NSBP opportunity will result in the distribution of up to $26.95 million in funding. St. Louis County’s proposed project includes constructing a permanent slope repair to support a 1,500-foot segment of CSAH 61 (North Shore Scenic Drive) that is currently experiencing slope failure.
