About this Project

St. Louis County is leading a project in 2026 to construct a roundabout on Progress Parkway (CSAH 142) located approximately 800 ft east of US 53 in the City of Eveleth. This is the first phase of the new Progress Parkway Project which will construct a new roadway to connect US 53 and Hwy 37. Progress Parkway will serve as the secondary access to the Rock Ridge School Campus. You can read more about the Progress Parkway Project here.

The roundabout will connect Progress Parkway, Industrial Park Dr (CSAH 149) and Wolverine Way. Wolverine Way will be positioned as the north leg of the roundabout and connect to the Rock Ridge School Campus along the existing roadway.

This project will construct approximately 1,000 ft (0.19 mile) of the new Progress Parkway alignment heading to the south. St. Louis County is finalizing the plan of the second phase of the new Progress Parkway Project which will construct the remainder of the new Progress Parkway that will connect to Hwy 37.

Traffic Impacts

Progress Parkway will be closed to traffic after June 12, 2026. While Progress Parkway is closed, traffic accessing the school will be detoured on US 53, Bourgin Rd (CSAH 159) and White Cedar Dr. The roundabout is anticipated to be open to traffic before the first day of school in September. Industrial Park Dr (CSAH 149) will remain open to Progress Parkway. Access to Slumberland and JM Auto will be available from US 53 using Progress Parkway and Industrial Park Dr.
